Clay may work, but some people say acids from the birds droppings soak into the paint, where as claying is for heavier contaminates, like environmental fall-out: rail way iron particles, bugs and their droppings and plant/tree releases - all things that lie almost on top of paint.
Some times, polish or isopropyl will remove droppings if not then abrasive car polish/compound style products may work. Always try least aggressive products first and clay certainly is not agressive.
