I did my first oil change my self at 7,500 miles. It is very easy on the F30 compared to my old car (Acura RSX Type -S) as the oil filter is right in the front of the engine. I am 100% positive you will not void your warranty if you change the oil your self. On my RSX I use to change the oil (Synthetic) every 3K because I always had it at high RPMs
. When I purchased my car and found out that oil changes were done at 15K, it did not sit well with me at all so I changed it my self at 7.5K. I will continue to change the oil my self every other oil change for as long as I own my F30.
