Quite a few 911 turbos are on stock turbos. Same appears to go for F40's. Oddly enough, my dad has a G3 RX7 that still has both original turbos. Provided proper cooling, there's little reason that a properly designed turbo shouldn't last a long time.
The new trend of BMW to place the turbos in the v of the engine sure seems like it would be trapping in too much heat to provide for turbo longevity though. I'd guess that N54 turbos hold up much better than the new V8tt, but of course, that's just a guess.
