2) I believe there is no difference at all between the manual and automatic when it comes to map switching and confirmation. The flashing lights just applied to the M DCT shifter afaik. The bluetooth connect kit is the best way to go as you can use the jb4 app on your phone to select map and it tells you which map you are in as a straight forward numeric value at first glance as opposed to reading the needle on the tach. Also allows for easier logging,

3) JB4 only activates at engine oil temp of 70C + for component preservation - which is no hardship as you won't be flogging the car before warm up anyway.
