As I understand it, the 230hp N52 in the 128i (and 328i) is essentially the same engine that produced 215hp in the E90 325i and 255hp in the E90 330i. apparently it's simply a software change that is responsible for the changes in horsepower.

Anyone know of aftermarket options for getting more power out of the N52 in the 128i?
