Anything less than $210 is certainly fake on Amazon/eBay. HKS restricts pricing on these to vendors so if you see a "deal" for $150 for a new one you're paying $130 more than you should for a knock off.
I've personally seen blown turbos from defective bovs and there's quite a few stories floating around where the fake bov's falls apart and the engine ingests the loose items.
If they were reliable, we'd sell them and we'd make more per bov sold vs the authentic brands. We refuse to sell them simply because they're not reliable enough.
