One of the reasons for the train is because we only have 6 nights on the south island before flying to Sydney as part of our 5 week trip, Idea was to stay only 1 night at Christchurch, do the "route" staying where we can without booking so we can make the most of the main attractions. without driving back on ourselves which would happen if we drive from Christchurch.
Trip involves stays in Hong Kong, NZ, Syney, Cairns, Noosa (Brisbane) and Singapore.
We won't want to come back!
