I have been driving BMW since 1976. Following ownership of an E30 325i, I have not had as much FUN driving a BMW until purchase of my 2021 228i xDrive Gran Coupe...the fun factor was lesser in my 2001 328i and my 2011 328i. The standard equipment in the 2021 matches the equipment in today's $45k car.
I test drove the 2021 M235i xDrive Gran Coupe before finding the 228i xDrive Gran Coupe. My wife did not like the harshness of ride from the M Sport suspension in combination with 19" wheels and extra low profile tires. Ignoring the ride harshness, it was very FUN to drive! But 19" wheels with the poor condition of our roads is asking for recurring problems.
