from a theoretical standpoint, a larger intercooler, more free flowing intercooler would allow more air to enter the cylinder, and thus more fuel would have to be added (via something like xede) to adjust for the larger amount of air. this would create a larger explosion and create more power.

problem is, BMW's stock intercooler is probably nicely freeflowing as is, so would the price of a so called "larger" intercooler be worth the gains? only time will tell.
