The 340i exhaust is VERY similar to the 335i exhaust as an axleback. The main different inlet pipe is slightly different angles and the stock can on a 340i is larger then a 335i stock can but its not far off from one another in general. The 340i and the 335i both utilize the same bumper design though so that takes some of the guesswork out of the equation.
Regardless, we actually mounted our first prototype exhaust to our 340i yesterday and I thought it sounded pretty good. Twas a burbling wonder, was pretty intoxicating actually. How close that will be to a final design is anyones guess since I don't know if it droned or not but for a first attempt I was pleasantly surprised.
