Saving for my 2014-2016 GT3 or my 2020 Boxster Spyder as we speak, as I drive my E93 coming from an F82.

I'm still in the PCA since I used to own a Boxster, and I still like going to PCA track days. Several guys in my region have 911s and Caymans/Boxsters with 175,000+ miles, and many of those miles are hard track days. Yes, Porsche parts tend to be expensive, but you can find good deals on used parts when that's an option. And unless it's under warranty, most Porsche fanatics use German car shops for repairs where the labor rates are more reasonable. They all have their favorite shops and mechanics, and none of them are at the dealer.

And few dedicated sports cars are as reliable when daily driven, or when repeatedly tracked. I hear way more older BMW horror stories than I do with older Porsches, and some are driving 70's and 80's Porsche models on the track (911s and 944s), with an only upgrade in brakes and tires. And overheating and mechanical failures are rare, especially factory parts (aftermarket parts tend to break first).
