16” length, 5” width and 500lbs difference for 2024 M2 and 2023 M5 is a big difference that would definitely be noticed in downtown parking, at least big city parallel parking. Also on nimbleness and feel.
I don’t live in a big city, next to a racetrack, or near deserted canyon or mountain roads where the considerations above are most important. I like my M5 and appreciate its space, comfort and power, and think its handling is decent for its size and weight. But if I was 20 years younger or more, I’d choose an M2 or M3 over the M5.
