My Mother's e28 528e automatic sure was the "Ultimate Driving Machine".

You guys need to get over yourselves. It's the same complaints with literally every single new generation of BMW. Too big, too soft, not sporting, blah, blah, freaking blah. If the company still made nothing but brand-new 2002's, some of you would be happy as clams, but of course, BMW would have gone out of business 40 years ago. And fun though they are, by modern standards 2002's really kind of suck.
