Personally guys just soak a towel with water and squeeze it over the salt and let it soak or pour some light water over the carpet then vacuum with a heavy duty vacuum. During winter I made it an extra chore to bounce my shoes together outside the car while sitting on the seat to dump those extra snow and salt before getting completely inside and it works. I go snowboarding alot too and I rarely get much salt in my interior. Heck I couldnt even fathom living down south with the sweltering heat just to get away from a minor issue like this lol.
