Use body mounting tape on the plate directly on the painted part of the bumper, ensuring there is tape in the middle to stop the back of the plate touching the bumper where it is curved. Remove it in the future using dental floss to cut the mounting tape, allowing both the bumper and plate to be returned to pristine condition.
