I agree with you 100% on how BMW's destroying the //M heritage.
Sadly BMW doesn't really have a choice. They needed something to compete with ML AMG's, Cayennes, etc. The regular X5 just wasn't going to cut it. Rather than adding an entire new sport SUV to the lineup they decided to revamp the X5/6, which is why we now have the X5/6 M's.
BMW's really gotten out of hand with the M marketing (M packages on every model, M SUV's, M badges on X3's, etc.....) It defeats the entire purpose behind an //M. No wonder you guys are debading your shit.
