BMW has consistently denied the possibility of an M7, with BMW M stating that it was not in the plans as of
late 2013. The reason has been that the 7 Series' goal of providing the ultimate comfortable large sedan is incompatible with the racing roots of the M division. But, we now have the X5 M and X6 M so there goes that problem.
As many before them,
Autobild is claiming that the M7 is coming to take on the likes of the Mercedes S63 AMG and Audi S8. Power would be over 600hp and price speculated to be around 140,000 euros.
We'd love to see an M7 of course, but an important question is if there's enough room in the lineup for the standard 7 series and both the rumored
M770i and M7? That's probably the question being mulled upon in BMW's board room.
