I have put lowering springs on many cars including my own with the stock struts, I have never had any issues with them wearing out premature. Like others have said, it all depends on the wear of them prior to the new spring and how hard you are on the car in general. If you have a lot of potholes and bumps around you, you will have a decreased life expectancy of your struts. If you are in an area that is nice and nonbumpy (if you will) you will be fine for quite a while.
