Under normal circumstances an oem shock/strut should last you 40-50k anything more you prolly will not notice til you can actually feel the rim bouncing up and down like you how you would see some cars on the freeway with 1 dead shock.
If you elect to throw on some lowering springs with a shock@40k youll be wasting labor monies becuase you should be replacing it while its out.
