My commute is half of yours and I spend way too much time pumping gas. Plus, I usually average about 19 mpg. Luckily 2/3 of my commute is through a National Park (at higher than posted speeds!). You could do what I did and acquire a barely used E46 M3 for daily commuting. Mine was $29K and only had 5,900 miles on it at 7 years old. There are loads of good deals on E46 M3 convertibles at present, and they hold their value (what is left of it) quite well. Most verts are bone stock too and well preserved.
