I just got a 430 GC xDrive (F36) and I have noticed that the ride is much firmer and "BMW Like" than my 328 xDrive Sports Wagon (F31). Both have base suspensions without DHP.
I believe I remember that when they did the LCI on the 4 Series they "stiffened up" the base suspensions and I believe (from my observations) that it carried over to the xDrive cars as well.
I suggest you test drive a new 440 xDrive and see what your "seat of the pants" tell you.
