A tuned S55 will destroy a piggyback B58 because of the fuel limits, even the N55 has more headroom currently and there are 10 second N54s, lol.
BMW has to use such a ridiculouslly hobbled DME setup to get the arbitary emissions numbers the econazis demand but they're the only German car maker to so zealously lock down their ECU and prevent enthusiasts bypassing it - you can flash your brand new RS3 the day you buy it, whereas the B58 is still crippled 2 years after launch.
Sure the Audi will throw a code, but at least they're allowing you to gamble the powertrain warranty in exchange for 100 additional easy horsepower.
