He's referring to the front thrust arm. It is the longitudinal suspension link in the front suspension that locates the wheel hub for and aft to the chassis. The thrust arm bushing can develop a leak and lose its dampening fluid, which requires replacement of the bushing. Most shops just replace the entire thrust arm.

Are you getting any vibration in the steering wheel when applying the brakes?
