Anyone have any insight/advice? Been thinking of packing it in and going with Dr. Colorchip. But, seeing as I have the touch-up paint, figured I'd see if anyone here had advice before I give up.
Gray and Silver will always look darker when touched up. When the car is painted the metallic portion of the paint tends to even out from mixing and line pressure during application. When you take and glob metallic paint to cover a chip all of the metallic and pigment is bunched together and the paint is less translucent. Try dabbing the paint on a piece of cardboard etc. mix it around well and apply a very thin coat of paint. Do that a few times and top off with a dab of clear coat.
