Agreed:

Stock 135i
Front 215/40R18 629mm Diameter, 314.5mm floor to axle
Rear 245/35R18 629mm Diameter, 314.5 floor to axle

1M Coupe
Front 245/35R19 654mm Diameter, 327mm floor to axle
Rear 265/35R19 668mm Diameter, 334mm floor to axle

So (based on the tyres alone) the 1M is 1/2in higher at the front and 3/4in higher at the rear.

BUT - I've seen a number of writeups from reviewers where they mention that the 1M has been lowered by 20mm compared to the Stock 135i.

Is the talk of the 1M being 20mm lower just bull or are they perhaps refering to having to cut down the height of the M3 suspension to get it to fit under the 1er chassis? If that's the case, I wonder if it has compromised the handling.

Call me old fashioned but, if I hear that a car has been lowered, then I normally expect it to be sitting closer to the floor than before - not higher!
