Perhaps I am assuming this car would be so much cheaper than $40k is that I think they should use the same suspension and steering from the 370z. Not only is it cheaper since it already exists, but is it far superior to the newer Q50/Q60 components and hydraulic steering would be another advantage over the Supra. There is no need to fix what isn't broken.
I personally could not imagine a sports car with the Q50 steering and suspension. I drove one coming from a G37 and could not believe how play-doh-like everything felt, except for the engine which was the weak point of the G37 IMO.
VR30 and literal everything else from a 370z would be perfect in my eyes
