No that's not true..the HAS is basically a spring replacement with a little helper perch underneath it to preload the spring to adjust height. It retains the shock assembly so the adaptive susp is still operable.

Thanks for clearing that up. Just saved me some $. Ill be going with regular springs then. Let me read up on which springs to get.
