Just a thought, from a distance it looks like the exaust tips from the M240 could be welded into the muffler body of the M2 exhaust in order to avoid the need to modify the diffuser

I suppose you could do that, but I don't think it would sound the same. The M2 tips are kind of chambered and don't come out of the muffler symmetrically.
