Although I have a 135i MT (2010 with about 3k miles), it averages 21 mpg around town and on a recent 300 mile Interstate trip, it averaged 25 mph one way and 26 mph the other, while running around 3k rpm. Overage mileage is 23.x. I verify the OBC mileage with external measurements recorded in an iPhone app called Road Trip and the overall average matches the car's computer readout almost exactly.
