2001-2002 M5 mpg?

So I'll be getting $0.52/mile reimbursed from my company for all the mileage that I drive. I'll be driving 2k miles/mo. That gives me $1,040/mo to spend on a car and gas. At 20mpg I will be purchasing 100 gallons of gas a month. With gas at $4.50/gallon that would cost me $450/mo in gas and that leaves about $590/mo for a car payment. With all that info does anyone know if the old M5 gets about 20mpg with mostly highway driving (70-80% hgwy)? If so, then it makes sense for me to get the M5. I know the variables may change (gas prices etc) but, it won't effect me all that much since I'm getting the $0.52/mile so really I want to buy a car that gives me about 20mpg.
