I regulary flash the gatso local to me when I drive on the opposite side, too fast. Its quite sensitive? Ive seen and done it in other areas too.
As far as I can remember, there has to be two flashes to calculate the speed. It is possibe to trip one flash if you accelerate quickly before the white lines end, ive done this too and panicked for 14 days.
Not sure on getting done without the white lines, these are specificially calibrated for gatsos. You can however get 'done' by traffic cops using permanent road features, usually by their VASCAR system.
I very much doubt they could do you without white lines on the road with a gatso camera.
Its a horrible feeling waiting those 14 days...........
