I can't see how the 991 GT3 will go up in value since the 991.2 GT3 and the next gen GT3 will be basically the same recipe. I think the 997 GT3/RS is a safer bet. But then again, Porsche might bring back the manual for the 992 GT3 and then the 997 is no longer any special except for the Metzger engine.
There's an M3 GTS for sale in Sweden for 1.5mil SEK ($185k) with 1200miles on the clock which is right around what it sold for new.
Buying new, non-hyper cars for investment purposes is both risky and unpredictable so I would actually advise against it.
