Really, that is astonishing! I would have thought the registration number would immediately tell them it's an 'automatic' as opposed to 'manual'.
I'm with Admiral also (£440 fully comp), but didn't mention any of my factory fitted options. I mean, where would you stop...

Ah, in that case sir I'm going to have to apply an additional charge of £500"
