This type of car obviously has to be practical. Since it's not a hatchback but still has to have the fastback styling, they have to make the rear end taller otherwise rear seat headroom will be too tight and the trunk capacity will be too small. Looks like a fine car for first time BMW buyers or people in markets that favor small cars.
