Yes. Although - again - why do you feel you need to? I replaced the 'filled for life' stuff on a manual E46 330ci I own. It was soot black (should apple juice coloured) on removal, and the shifts got worse as the temperature rose. D4 ATF fixed that. But, this was at 150k miles and 12 years...
