There's also the option to have a wheel shop widen the fronts to a 9". The offset will change, but the extra 1/2" will be on the inside, which is good. A spacer would push the wheel out more giving you the look you want while still having clearance and the hub centric effect.

The problem with spacers is, in order to use the hub centric ring which centers your wheel to the hub, you either need to use small spacers (3-5mm) or large spacers (12+mm). If you lose your hub centric ring, it's hard to centre the wheel to the hub which can cause a wobble. Turner Motorsports makes a cool spacer to retain the hub centric ring but I haven't tried them out yet.

As of right now, try the wheels to make sure they clear the calipers, 3mm is about the minimum clearance needed. Have a good look and see if you like them. If you like the wheels on your car, you can surely have them widened, with spacers installed for far less than a new set of wheels. Although, selling this set also puts a few $$ in your pocket towards a new set. You have a few good options here.

You should even be able to borrow a spacer from a wheel shop to give you a better idea as to what the finished product will look like.
