Expect the first ever BMW X3 M to be introduced in early 2019 and begin production as a MY2020 vehicle (U.S.).

With the success of the BMW X5 M and X6 M models, BMW M is looking to expand its SAV lineup and will do so with the first ever X3 M (F97) model based on the upcoming new X3 (G01) generation (as first revealed in our
upcoming BMW timeline). The new X3 will come in 2018 and the X3 M should be available soon after. The X3 M will be joined by an X4 M (F98) based on the next X4 (G02) model.
Compared to the standard G01 X3 (
see spy pics), this F97 prototype features many M traits -- more aggressive bumper with large air intakes, side skirts, rear diffuser, roof spoiler, M brakes and centered quad exhaust.
This prototype was spotted testing in front of the BMW M-GmbH test facility in Garching near Munich/germany.
