Most people don't like Tein suspensions "for BMW"s" because the parts are inferior to other brands like Koni's, Bilsteins, KW's, TCKline's, & Eibachs. It has nothing to do with Japan. Tein makes good products for other cars, just not as good of products for BMW's.
Most high-end BBS wheels are made in Japan, and you rarely, if ever, hear people complain about it.
