I also think there should be enough air flowing down there to be scooped up for cooling the brakes a bit. obviously not ideal like a direct connection to the back plate but better than what is there now.

DriveHard, I think we need to have a piece fabricated so we can cut and modify. probably something like a 16 gauge aluminum. just have to make sure the holes align and the rest is cutting and riveting pieces together.
