As much as I like high-revving N/A engines, driving an X6M has reassured me. I can live with that kind of turbo engine.

I think a big part of the driving experience is not just how high the engine can rev, but also how quickly it gets there. As long as BMW can make highly responsive engines (despite the taller gearing), I'll be happy.

I had a 135 for a few weeks. I thought that the engine was fantastic, except that it sometimes felt a bit "lazy". I didn't get the same feeling in the X6M. It felt much more eager.

Also, I think people tend to forget the racing heritage of turbo engines.
