They removed the panels under the steering column and the A piller panels (near the front windows, either side). They will mount the the siren in the engine bay area.
This is totally different to how the oem alarm is installed.
I have creaks that developed over a year, I just took it back to BMW to have it sorted. Most of the creaks and noise in this car they acknoweleged to be a problem and so they fix without fuss. BTW they put felt in between panels to stop the creaking. Not sure what else they do.
