You won't be disappointed in your choice of he 125i manual. I have exactly your spec; M-Sport manual, and it is a delight. Anyone who chooses an automatic over the manual they put in the 125i is missing out on something. I know good gearboxes. I traded in a Mazda RX-8 for the 125i. Like you, I hadn't driven one before I took delivery; but then, I hadn't driven the RX-8 before I ordered it in 2003, and I certainly wasn't disappointed with that car either.
