For people living in the USA there should be no reason to not change your oil every 5k in your high performance twin turbo engines, oil changes only cost you about $45 in supply's and 20 minutes of your time.
Here in Italy the oil alone costs 35 euros A LITER, something to think about when discussing BMWs service intervals.
