I cleaned my rims today - just jack the car up a corner at a time, pull the rim off, wash the back first and then the front. I use a cloth to go between the spokes - it's easy when you can push it through and then hold it from inside and outside and slide it along.

It's quick, they get completely clean and you can wipe the dust off the brakes while you're at it.

Seriously - that's the way to wash the wheels. Everything else takes longer and does a poorer job.
