lets not kid ourselves the average bmw owner is very price sensitive and I'd go out on a limb and say the GT3 is the wrong car to compare the M3 to. A GT4 is far more apt and in todays money not too far off the M3.

Yeah but M3 is 2x the Acura in terms of performance, build quality, fun to drive. Not sure if I can say the same about the GT3. I.e it’s not 2.5x M3.
But I do agree that both these cars(M3 and GT3) aren’t comparable.
