I'm a bit of a leather buff, so all else equal would like to avoid seeing holes in the leather if possible.

To my eye they have no perforations. I selected a light color leather "Ivory White" as you can see the details much better while increasing the brightness of the screen...I zoomed on it....I didn't see any perforations. I did the same thing with the Sensafin Cognac...you can clearly see the perforations.
