Please provide a more exact description of the symbol which you see...the E90 does NOT have a simple 'circle with exclamation'! The only symbols used in the E90 with a circular outer form are
  1. Circle with exterior cogs (representing a gear!), indicating transmission related issue
  2. Circle flanked by 'parentheses' to either side, indicating a braking system issue
  3. Counterclockwise partial circle with arrowhead, with inner triangle, indicating a DTS/DSC issue

A symbol display is very likely going to have a CCID code stored, which you can display by using the BC control on the directional control stalk, then pressing inward on the end button for two seconds at the message.
