I don't think there is an airbag in the A pillar. The air bag is a side curtain airbag.
Have a look at the BlackVue cams. There was a recent thread about the Thinkware ones having software problems.
Also using the cig lighter as a power source is no good for parking modes. You need to take power from the fuse box and battery.
