M340d...... here we go again!

Here I am, yet again, in a position I said I wouldn't be in!

After purchasing the M340d, brand new 72', in Dravit grey with Comfort Plus and Tech Plus packs, I recently chopped this in after 11 months of ownership having covered 5k miles.

I've now purchased an Audi A3 Saloon Edition 1, 2.0 Tdi, with the idea its a good spec, takes a chunk off the monthly repayments and gets me from A to B. Also, BMW are notorious for their depreciation which helped towards my decision.

WELL..... I said it myself in previous posts, BMW tick all the boxes from comfort, driver experience, technology and in most cases a faultless reliable machine. Already, 2 weeks later I've had the old Audi MMi gremlins.
That aside, needless to say, 1000 £££s later, I'm thinking what to do.

I've seen a nice M440i gran coupe (appreciate this is the 3 series section) as I like 4 doors personally. It's full of tech and so on.....

Question:
People's opinion of the M340d / M340i vs the M440i
Do I try and find another M340 or go M440 as never owned one

Just curious and ultimately after that push

2020 M340i  [0.00]
Let me push you!

Go for M340i and pre-lci they look best, new one looks like it had plastic surgeon gone over it.

More over generally 3 series tend to just look better than 4 series and has much more lasting impression.

What were the issues with Audi?

Actually it's 3 and 4 series so we're ok with that on here!

M440i coupe! But then I would say that!

If you prefer 4 doors then pre LCI saloon (with MHT) or Gran Coupe again with MHT !

Keep the Audi a while, stop spaffing your money on changing cars constantly and spend it on something more worthwhile

@Funboy78 - I've still got your old M340D and won't be letting it go anytime soon. There is nothing at all on the market that can beat it on tech, handling and overall good looks!

Sorry, taken some time to think this all through……

I’ve owned both the M340’s so happy to change and actually like the look of the 4 series personally.
In terms of the LCI M340 I would choose this over the previous, not that this means there is anything wrong with the pre LCI, I just prefer newer tech and loved the screens!

As for the Audi……. Within 2 weeks, user already logged in so wouldn’t load my settings (even though I’m the user), then a call cut off and complete system reboot for no reason. Same happened in the RS5 and previous RSQ3.
The BMW has a better MMI 10 fold easy!!

Hello mate!
Pleased to hear you still have it

You are right, it ticked all the boxes, gorgeous looking, if only I could personally keep a car that long! I just like change and once I start looking then it’s game over

I’ve decided, for now, to keep the Audi until Xmas is over and look again the new year. BMW firmly on the radar obviously!

The only car I have remotely considered other than BMW is the Alfa Romeo Giulia especially the new Competizione variant and 0% finance available currently.

I can’t help but look at those and be tempted - with the facelift and updated interior; they just really do something for me!

Gorgeous cars but are they better is what I keep asking myself. As I said, it's the only car that would tempt me away from a Beemer.
